The Brandon Pride Times: Issue 4, July 30th 2006 Educating, and informing the GLBTS commUNITY on events that promote Equality, Diversity, and pride happening in Brandon, and the Tampa Bay area. NOTE: As a non-profit 501C3 organization with a pending application, Brandon Pride like any other non-profit 501C3 organizations can not endorse, or support a candidate, or political party. But members of our organization can outside of Brandon Pride can endorse, and or support who ever they want. Brandon Pride promotes Equality, and in doing so we can INFORM the community of those candidates who take a strong stance in the name of Equality. Exciting news about the upcoming film "UNbanned" What started out just releasing live video footage of the June 15th Gay Pride display, and Book Reading blossomed into even a bigger idea. Lets face it folks, besides all the hatred these Commissioners have revealed to the GLBT community, lets not forget how they have treated others based on race, color, nationality, religion, disability, and sexual orientation. This film that is being put together will definitely open the eyes of Hillsborough County before going to the election booth. But we need your help. We need you to spread the word!! Let others know what we are doing as far as exposing these corrupt commissioners. Also, we want to get as many remarks/quotes, and questionable decisions on these County commissioners from all media resources such as television/radio news programs to printed news articles as we can. "I cannot miss official commission duty to go engage in a debate," Storms said. Well that could be true. But Ronda has made many enemies with her verbal discrimitory attacks on people based on race, color, nationality, religion, disability, and sexual orientation during her term as County Commissioner, and she knows that the other 3 candidates that is running against her may use that against her in the debates. They could even bring up the ethics charges that she was brought up on. So is Ronda thinking that she can still win by not showing up for debates? Though she may think she is a leader by giving her commitment to County Commission, how will people know if she is an effective leader if she is not committing to these debates? "I collected over 3,000 signatures for Senate District 10 and I'm qualified for Senate District 10," Storms said. "You can't get anymore committed than that. How am I going to do something else? Why would I be?" Lets not forget that on April 28, 2006, Storms makes Political vows. The state Senate candidate says she would work to bar gays and lesbians from being foster parents. We need a constitutional ban on gay marriage, a 24 hour waiting period on abortion, and we must increase the number of children adopted in Florida.
